JACK was our loving and faithful jack russell. We were fortunate enough to have him in our lives for
10 years. he became ill in 2005 with epilepsy, which we later found out was caused by a tumour on
his pituatary gland. jack underwent many blood tests, xrays and scans and was so well behaved and
brave throughout. he withstood a long journey to bristol vetinary hospital where he was eventually
diagnosed. he had developed cushings disease which gave him his pot bellied appearance,and he began
to have oral chemotherapy to shrink the tumour. he responded well, but unfortunatley suffered a
stroke on july 8th 2006. the vet said there was little hope that jack would survive and we therefore
took the decision to have jack put to sleep. we spent the next 2 days loving him the best we could
and cherishing every moment. it was the hardest decision we have ever had to make, but we knew that
jack was starting to suffer and we would never allow that. when i look back at jacks photos now, i
can see that the light had gone from his eyes, he had lost his sparkle, and all that made him the
loveable little rogue that he was. i know that he is not suffering now, and for that i am truly
thankful. we miss him everyday and hope and pray that he will be waiting for us in the next life.
jacks favourite thing was to burst footballs, we try and imagine him in pet heaven, he would be
playing ball with all the other dogs and puppies and would be trying to burst all the balls as fast
as he could. i hope that jack is looking down on us and knows how much we miss him. i wish i could
take away the pain that jacks death caused my husband rob, he feels guilty for signing the papers
that the vet required to put jack to sleep. i know that he signed them to spare me doing it, but i
want him to know that i would have done it in a heartbeat if i had known that he would feel guilty
afterwards. we did the only decent human thing possible for jack, and as time passess i realise that
even more. thankyou for coming into our lives jack and teaching us about true love. we miss you
always jack xxxxxxx

we miss you

To my dearest family,
some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know,
that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from the Bridge.
Here I dwell with God above.
Here there's no more tears of sadness.
Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy
just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you
every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you
when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me
and He said, "I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again,
you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family,
They'll be here later on."
God gave me a list of things,
that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list,
was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night
the day's chores put to flight,
God and I are closest to you...
in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth,
and all those loving years,
because you are only human,
they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry:
it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers,
unless there were some rain.
I wish that I could tell you
all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you,
you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain,
though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now,
than I ever was before.
There are rocky roads ahead of you
and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it
by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy
and I'd like it for you too;
That as you give unto the world,
the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody
who's in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...
"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented...
that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along
I made somebody smile.
